| Well, for lack of anything better to write about, I will explain the whole "D-12 F-20" thing cuz at least one person wants to know. :) These things are refering to rocket motors. There are literaly hundreds of different rocket motors out there, and one basic way of catagorizing them. I will make it as simple as I can. Obviously there are many different size rockets, so different size motors are needed. The most common difference in one motor to the next is the power the motor has. The bigger (heaveir) the model rocket, the bigger (more powerful) the motor you will need to get it off the ground. The basic clasification system is: Letter-Number-Number. The first letter is a "class" of motor, all motors in that class have relatively the same power range (not all motors, especialy two motors from two different manufacturers are going to have exactly the same power). The first number is the total impulse of the motor, in Newtons. (in laymans (sp?) terms, that means how much power the motor has, thrust) and the last number is the delay in seconds from when the motor stops producing thrust and when the ejection charge goes off to push out the 'chute. For example, an D12-3 is a "D" class rocket motor with 12 newtons of total impulse and a 3 second delay. To understand the different classes, each consecutive letter is roughly twice as powerful as the letter before it. A "B" would be roughly twice as powerful as an "A", and a "C" twice as powerful as a "B" making a "C" four times as powerful as an "A". Now, class "A" thu "D" are usualy refered to as model rocket motors, class "E" thu "G" are mid-power motors, and "H" to whatever is high power. I have heard of "S" motors (over 200 pounds of propellant!!) but Im sure somewere someone is making one more powerful. (I don't recomend it to any one person). So, since I don't want my rocket streaking to a mile high in my "small" (for a mile high rocket) yard and never seeing it again cuz it lands in the woods, I will use a less powerful motor (hence less altitude, = better chance of recovery) to test it. The rocket is designed for an "F" class motor, and i will first test it with a "D" class motor. Any questions?

PS: Since you ca't read the labels with my backround here you go: Going from left to right: checkered is the nozzle, pink it the propellant for lift off and ecceleration, blue is the delay for coasting and it makes smoke for tracking the rocket, yellow is the ejection charge for popin' out the chute, purple is the clay retainer cap (keeps the stuff inside from getting outside), and the whole thing is in a cardboard casing. ( a heavy duty cardboard and once your up past "E" they start making them out of stronger material) | | |
| Well, I suppose i do have one prohect I can fill you all in on. I am currently working on a rocket to travel over a mile high. The rocket is a slightly modified Apogee Aspire kit, and I am not useing the factory decor. i am instead painting it my way and giving it a new name. Haven't decided the name yet. The rocket is just under three feet long and will eventualy fly on an F-10 or F-20 after preliminary tests on D-12's are finished on the fourth of July. (if you don't know what I mean by F-10 and D-12 and all that give me a comment and Ill put in an entry explaining). Before she goes a mile though I really need to find a large field. Meby I'll see if I can but in on the local rocket clubs next launch. Meby I should join. Don't have much time to though. Well, this pic is what the factory fresh built straight "out of the box" kit looks like. As I said, mine won't look like that. Picture that rocket with yellow at the nose fading into orange fading into black about halfway down, and a red stripe on the leading edge of each fin. when I think of a name that may be on there as well. † | | |
| Hello. I have not updated this in a while. Well, school is over. Yeay. I think i passed everything. Yeay. Well I guess Im just really tired or something cuz i really can't think of anything to talk about. I just got the urge to make my site look prety and though a new entry was apropriate. Hopefully I will have something more to write soon.

| There is an odd sense of freedom when you are given free reign over a vehicle for a weekend while your parents are away . Needless to say it was a good weekend. Still not over, cuz I've got about 3 essays to write and some other general homework to do, plus a patrol leaders confrence (Im Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 4077, Boy Scouts) and church tomarow so wish me luck in getting it all done. I am working on setting up a website for me for my hobbies. Basicly a title page similar to the one here and links to each of my hobbies. Will let u know more when it comes closer to being a reality. Thats all for now, ttyl.

| Today is a good day, i have exciting news. I passed my road test! Yeay. Now I can drive by myself, but that may not be a good thing :):) For those of you who have seen "Gone in 60 seconds" the big black guy who was a driving instructor before he rejoined the carjacking team is who i got for an instructor. But he wasn't as talkative. :) So wish me luck and watch out! :)
